Thanks for the cross-blogging, P Diddy!
It's true, I am feeling uninspired again. After Christmas I got a little burnt out on cooking, eating, and (gasp!) drinking. I decided it was time for (another) detox.
Now, detox for me usually means eating super healthy, exercising, and not drinking for as long as I can stand it. But for some reason it usually means not cooking anything interesting at all. I know this shouldn't be the case, but it is. So for right now I am in a self-imposed cooking drought. For example, today my lunch box includes: plain grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, avocado, and raw almonds. I am sure there is a clause in the Geneva convention about not forcing prisoners to eat like this.
Luckily, I am easily derailed from detoxing. Case in point: yesterday I had a case of the monday-after-christmas-working-when-I-dont-want-to-be's. And really, what is the best cure for the Mondays? I think we all know the answer. It starts with "v" and ends with "ino". Plus, Lorenzo and I finally watched Up, and I got a little teary... which led to more self-medication.
Ok, so day 1 of my detox didnt go so well. What do I see on the morning of day 2 when I walk into my office? Take a wild guess. Hint: its my favorite breakfast in the WORLD. (answer: leftover cake)In all, my detox is not going as planned, especially since New Year's Eve is tomorrow night. Now, I have no exciting plans, but I have a feeling me and my good friend Malbec will get along just fine.
