Champagne Thursday, a day early

It's been quite a week, and it's only Wednesday morning. Besides not being fully recovered from last weekend's food bender, New York got dumped with snow this morning, making life all the more enjoyable. I mean, as if my winter "look" could get any better! So not only do I get to show up to work in the morning soggy, hat headed and windswept, now I also have to dress like a survivalist.

I was seriously considering a mimosa this morning to help me brave the commute. I settled for promising myself a champagne cocktail at a very early happy hour. In my opinion, this snowman would be a lot less abominable if he indulged in a little bubbly.

In other news, the next Iron Chef competition at my office will be a cookie-off! This is very exciting. These people are playing right into my strengths and they don't even know it! The cookie is my favorite food unit, by far (tied for first with the hot dog, of course). what should I make? I'm imagining there will be a lot of chocolate chip decadence in the competition, so something unexpected that will contrast that. Cornmeal Lime? Shortbread? Iced oatmeal raisin? The possibilities are endless! I'm sure this will consume my weekend.

Savory parmesan thyme cookies! At least throw them in to make everybody stop and think.

I saw those too...maybe. Although I got so much crap last time for making a Savory pudding instead of a sweet one, I dont know if its such a good idea. They might be disqualified as crackers.
